Academic plans
Pretty early on in my college career, I realized that I needed to figure out what courses I'm going to take and when. The result of this was the formation of an "academic plan." Below I list each significant iteration of these plans, since they changed as time went on.

blank. what’s going to happen here is that most likely during fall 07 or spring 08 i’m going to go abroad, so all the stuff after that i going to move down and so this semester won’t be blank anymore.
this plan, in the end, results in three degrees – computer science, environmental science, and russian language & literature.
by this plan, I will cover all but 1 one of the breadth requirements - the philosophy one, which i'll probably just take during my semester abroad.

the russian major stuff is up in the air until i meet with 3 people in the slavic department so that particular course requirements will be formulated after our interview.
if you notice, the foreign language and music electives drop off after the spring 07 semester. i actually plan on taking them anyway. also from this i can see that I will cover all but 1 one of the breadth requirements - the philosophy one. who needs that anyway? mmmmm let’s talk about the meaning of life....

spring 09 blank. what’s going to happen here is that most likely during fall 07 or spring 08 i’m going to go abroad, so all the stuff after that i going to move down and so this semester won’t be blank anymore. now, to complete the russian major, i would need
- One Russian literature class in English translation (Slavic 131, 132, 133, 134A, B, C, D, E, F, N, or 146)
- One course in culture selected from the following:
Russian culture (Slavic 130, 131, 140, 146, 148, 190) or
The literatures of other Slavic peoples (Slavic 150, 160, 170) or
Folklore (Slavic 147), Linguistics (Slavic 137), Film (Slavic 138) - Two upper division elective courses (each worth 3 or 4 units) in Russian language, literature, or culture selected from the courses listed above. Relevant courses from other programs — for example, History — may be substituted with the permission of the Major Adviser.
if you notice, the foreign language and music electives drop off after the spring 07 semester. i actually plan on taking them anyway, and really want to do chem 3a+l during the summer here in LA so that a) i don’t have to go to a lecture w/500 ppl and b) i have room to take two other classes instead of that up at cal (because that sucker is 5 units).
